BACK FROM THE DEAD!
2.
Folks, I'm goin' down to St. James Infirmary, To see my baby there, She's stretched out on a long, white table, She's so sweet, so cold, so fair. Let her go, let her go, God bless her, Wherever she may be, She'll search this wide world over, But she'll never find a man like me. Now, when I die, bury me in my straight-leg britches, Put on a box-back coat and a stetson hat, Put a twenty-dollar gold piece on my watch chain, So you can tell the boys I died standing pat. And give me six crap shooting pall bearers, Let a chorus girl sing me a song. Put a red hot jazz band at the top of my head So we can Hallelujah as we go along. Folks, now that you have heard my story, Say, boy, hand me over another shot of that booze, If anyone should ask you, Tell 'em I've got those St. James Infirmary blues.

O Death 03:17
O death O death Oh won't you spare me over till another year? Well I am death, none can excel I'll open the door to heaven or hell Whoa, death someone would pray Could you wait to call me another day The children prayed, the preacher preached Time and mercy is out of your reach I'll fix your feet til you cant walk I'll lock your jaw til you cant talk I'll close your eyes so you can't see This very hour, come and go with me I'm death I come to take the soul Leave the body and leave it cold To draw up the flesh off of the frame Dirt and worm both have a claim O death O death Won't you spare me over till another year?

There was an old woman all skin and bones Oooooooo She lived down by the old graveyard Oooooooo One night she thought she'd take a walk Oooooooo She walked down by the old graveyard Oooooooo She saw the bones all lying round Oooooooo She went to the closet to get a broom Oooooooo She opened the door and BOO!

There is a house in New Orleans They call the Rising Sun And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy And God, I know I'm one My mother was a tailor She sewed my new blue jeans My father was a gamblin' man Down in New Orleans Now the only thing a gambler needs Is a suitcase and a trunk And the only time he's satisfied Is when he's on a drunk Oh mother, tell your children Not to do what I have done Spend your lives in sin and misery In the House of the Rising Sun Well, I got one foot on the platform The other foot on the train I'm goin' back to New Orleans To wear that ball and chain Well, there is a house in New Orleans They call the Rising Sun And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy And God, I know I'm one

When you go down to the woods today, you're in for a big surprise When you go into the woods today, you'd better be in disguise Every bear with crushing paws And blood stained teeth the terror because Today's the day the teddy bears have a picnic Every bear that stalks it’s kill is sure of a snack today There's lots of delicious things to eat and terrible games to play Under the trees where nobody sees They'll rip and tear as long as they please That's the way the teddy bears have a picnic Picnic time for all the teddy bears The little teddy bears are having a wonderful time today Watch them, see them if you dare And see them slay their prey on holiday See them fearfully thrash about With a bloody snout They never have any cares At twelve o'clock their mummies find them in their beds 'Cause they were eaten by the teddy bears When you go to the woods today, you'd better not go alone It's scary in those woods today, its better to stay at home For every bear with crushing paws And blood stained teeth the terror because Today's the day the teddy bears have a picnic

Don't ever laugh as a hearse goes by For you may be the next to die They'll wrap you up in a big white sheet From your head down to your feet They put you in a big black box And cover you up with dirt and rocks It all goes well for about a week And then your coffin begins to leak The worms crawl in The worms crawl out The worms play Pinochle on your snout They eat your eyes They eat your nose They eat the jelly between your toes A big green worm with rolling eyes Crawls in your stomach and out your eyes Your stomach turns a slimy green And puss comes out like whipping cream You spread it on a slice of bread And that's what you eat when you are dead The worms crawl out and the worms crawl in The ones that crawl in are lean and thin The ones that crawl out are fat and stout Your eyes fall in and your hair falls out Your brain comes tumbling down your snout The worms crawl in, the worms crawl out The worms crawl in The worms crawl out They'll crawl all over your dirty snout Your chest caves in and your eyes pop out And your brain turns into sauerkraut They invite their friends, and their friends too They all come down to chow down on you And this is what it is to die I hope you had a nice goodbye. Do you ever think as a hearse goes by That you may be the next to die Now your eyes fall out and you teeth decay And that is the end of a perfect day.

about

"Back From The Dead" is a concept album in which we took six of the creepiest public domain songs we could think of, retooled them and made them heavier and more atmospheric than how they were originally written/recorded.The title song is a cool little intro we wrote with ties to classic metal and some "Back To The Future" flair. We hope you enjoy it!
